Changing our attitude and happiness is a choice
I have suffered from PTSD and always thought that I could not change my mindset. You know I was right until I changed my attitude that things could get better, they were not going to get any better. Then I realized thanks to an amazing person in my life that you could be depressed but still choose to be happy, to notice the good things in life. At times we get so stuck in our own minds and trails that we forget that if we change small things in our lives those things do change. I am not saying that meds, exercise, or a therapist do not help because they help so much, but what I am saying is that we need to change our own mindset. Remind ourselves that just because this is where I am right now does not mean that it will stay this way forever. If we can push ourselves to do things despite being depressed, we will find that things do change. We create our own happiness and story. What will yours be today? What will bring you happiness today? Who will you serve today? What will you live for? What will you be remembered for? What will push you to be your best self today?
We also need to remember that each of us has so much worth than we may think we do. There is nothing in this life that you cannot do. Remember the only person who can stop you from doing something is yourself. What have you always wished you could do? I know an amazing person who always wanted to serve in the military and even though it did not go the way he thought it would and ended up not being able to serve the way he wanted to, he still found a way to serve as an officer in a prison. It was not his first choice, but he still found a way to do what he wanted to do in the way he could. He could have allowed himself to say life stinks because I cannot do this the way he wanted to, but he found a make the most of what was given to him. We cannot all win a Grammy or change the world, but we can change our own little piece. If we all changed our own little piece of this world the world would change. What is the one thing you always wanted to do, but kept putting off? Do it! Change this world for the better.
Remember with the savior impossible does indeed spell I am possible. The savior will always pick up our slack if we are doing our best. How lucky we are to live in a world where there is a savior who loves us and is just waiting for us to open the door for him to come into our lives. He wants to help us find happiness and Joy in this life, but are we going to allow him to help us?
